About the Role

As an Intern – Compliance (m/w/d), you will be the voice of our Merchant Compliance project team for the German market. Wolt is growing rapidly and operates under a regulated e-money license, making partner identification and verification (KYC/KYB) a top priority. You will support the German team in a key initiative to secure and optimize partner data by actively guiding existing partner-merchants through the process of updating their master data to meet current regulatory standards. Your primary task will be to contact German partners directly, explain the legal necessity, answer their questions, and guide them through the update process, often acting as a linguistic bridge due to the diversity of our partner community.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contact partner-merchants in Germany by phone to remind them of necessary data updates and motivate them to update.
  • Handle merchant inquiries (primarily by phone, sometimes in writing), explain regulatory requirements clearly, and guide them on how to update their information.
  • Independently follow up on open cases, conduct structured follow-ups, and ensure merchants take action.
  • Maintain clean documentation of conversation status and reachability in internal tools.
  • Collaborate closely with the German project team and forward activated cases to the teams responsible for final processing.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional phone presence; comfortable with active customer outreach.
  • Currently enrolled as a student, preferably in fields such as Business Administration, Law, Communications, or Business Administration.
  • Extremely customer-oriented and friendly, while also working in a goal-oriented, reliable manner and keeping track of tickets.
  • Fluent German (C1/C2) for daily phone calls and good English skills for internal communication.
  • Fluency in additional languages such as Vietnamese, Turkish, Arabic, or others is a significant plus.
  • Availability for ideally 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate lectures.
