About the Role

Operating in highly regulated markets, our Compliance team plays a critical role in ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations while enabling sustainable business growth. As a Compliance Manager, you'll work at the heart of the business, partnering with teams across Product, Operations, Legal, Marketing, and Customer Services to deliver practical, commercially focused compliance solutions. Responsibilities
- Utilize internal systems to develop and maintain a solid knowledge base of Ontario, Alberta, and wider Canadian legislation, regulations, guidance, and technical documents.
- Advise and support the business with the implementation of commercially compliant operational procedures, in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Build a strong internal network and manage key stakeholders effectively to ensure visibility of compliance and input into business activity.
- Undertake regular horizon scanning in relation to regulatory changes and developments, reporting on outputs and feeding directly into business planning processes.
- Act as a key point of contact internally to support new projects and initiatives impacting the Canada market and represent compliance on relevant steering meetings.
- Maintain all required regulatory policy documentation and internal guidance documents, ensuring these are reviewed at least annually and in response to any regulatory changes.
- Deliver all elements of regulatory reporting to the Canada regulators.
- Pro-actively develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with our regulators, key industry stakeholders such as trade bodies and key third-party providers.
- Work closely with the Compliance Monitoring Manager to deliver the quarterly monitoring programme, ensuring monitoring processes are fully cognizant of Canada regulatory requirements.
- Follow up on any weaknesses identified as part of the monitoring output process and drive improvements.
- Work closely with the Head of Technical Compliance to support end-to-end handling of regulatory incidents.
- Support the Compliance Director by feeding into wider business governance processes and by presenting directly to senior stakeholders on matters of Canada compliance.
- Keep abreast of regulatory rulings and public statements and ensure a documented and effective feedback loop is in place to share learnings back into first line teams.
- Maintain close relationships with the marketing team and deliver on agreed processes to support the efficient execution of marketing campaigns.
- Undertake monthly and ad-hoc checks to ensure marketing and website content is compliant.
Requirements
- Experience of working within the online gambling sector and knowledge of legislative frameworks and regulation are critical for this role.
- Knowledge of legislative frameworks and regulation of the online gambling industry within Canada.
- Experience of working within the online gambling sector, within a compliance-focused role.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Proactivity in identifying and addressing process weaknesses, driving a culture of iterative improvement across all compliance procedures.
