About the Role
Manage BAU activities for Middle Office, partner with Markets Treasury & Finance leadership to provide strategic operational direction, and ensure alignment with business strategy. The role focuses on anticipating commercial needs, resolving constraints, and delivering scalable services within the financing (repo) activity.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Repo Middle Office function, ensuring risks are within appetite and expenses are within budget.
- Supervise organizational performance and risk management, ensuring metrics and controls are in place.
- Develop talent and team structure to support processing and control environments, aligning with Citi's culture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the function operates within risk appetite and financial budget.
- Act as the primary Operations partner to the Global Business Head and COO, facilitating business strategy execution.
- Advocate for Markets Operations needs in business growth initiatives.
- Own end-to-end operational outcomes for the Business in partnership with process-aligned leads.
- Develop and deploy a strategy to transform the function's front-to-back processes and technology infrastructure.
- Partner with Technology and Transformation teams on new initiatives and change projects.
Requirements
- Managing Director level relevant experience in the Operations of a major global bank within the Markets Division.
- Strong Leadership skills with an understanding of diverse backgrounds and the ability to inspire a strong risk mindset and culture of excellence.
- Strong partnership skills with the ability to influence senior-level decision-making.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to develop and execute medium and long-term plans.
- Good understanding of how Technology can support business imperatives, automate processes, and drive transformation.
- Excellent understanding of inherent Operations risks and the ability to address and remediate them.
- Ability to manage varied deliverables in a balanced manner within risk and financial budget limits.
- Demonstrates ability to make sound judgment calls on quantitative and qualitative issues.
- Serves as a point of escalation for key issues or time-sensitive decisions.
- Acts decisively, assessing situations based on data, experience, intuition, and judgment.
- Ability to respond to challenges with creative solutions and adapt to changing business needs.
