About the Role

LGC Biosearch Technologies is expanding and seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to ensure the functionality, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and safety equipment at the Berlin site. This role is crucial for supporting our mission of 'Science for a Safer World' by enabling research for life-changing treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the functionality, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and safety equipment at the Berlin site.
  • Perform or coordinate preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
  • Manage and supervise external service and maintenance providers.
  • Ensure complete and audit-compliant documentation of maintenance and calibration measures.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify/implement improvements to maximize equipment availability.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality Management, and EHS to ensure smooth site operations.

Requirements

  • Completed technical training (e.g., electrical engineering, mechatronics, laboratory technology) or comparable professional experience.
  • Technical understanding of laboratory equipment, analytical, and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in reading and understanding technical documentation and drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality-regulated environments (e.g., ISO standards).
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills.
  • Independent, structured work style and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology or analytical systems.
  • Experience in process documentation and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
