About the Role
LGC Biosearch Technologies is expanding and seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to ensure the functionality, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and safety equipment at the Berlin site. This role is crucial for supporting our mission of 'Science for a Safer World' by enabling research for life-changing treatments.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the functionality, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory and safety equipment at the Berlin site.
- Perform or coordinate preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
- Manage and supervise external service and maintenance providers.
- Ensure complete and audit-compliant documentation of maintenance and calibration measures.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify/implement improvements to maximize equipment availability.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Quality Management, and EHS to ensure smooth site operations.
Requirements
- Completed technical training (e.g., electrical engineering, mechatronics, laboratory technology) or comparable professional experience.
- Technical understanding of laboratory equipment, analytical, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience in reading and understanding technical documentation and drawings.
- Knowledge of quality-regulated environments (e.g., ISO standards).
- Good written and spoken German and English skills.
- Independent, structured work style and strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of molecular biology or analytical systems.
- Experience in process documentation and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
