About the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities team in maintaining the building, facilities, and equipment to a high standard. You will play a hands-on role in ensuring the club remains safe, functional, and well-presented for members, guests, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks including painting, basic plumbing, light bulb changes, and furniture assembly
  • Support planned preventative maintenance and reactive work orders
  • Assist with inspections of equipment, fixtures, and building systems
  • Help with room and facility setups for meetings, events, or club functions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, workspaces, and plant rooms
  • Monitor stock of essential maintenance supplies and report shortages
  • Respond promptly and professionally to urgent repair requests or facility concerns
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and operations teams to ensure a well-maintained environment
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and safe working practices

Requirements

  • Up to 2 years of experience in a busy, high-profile venue
  • Basic experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or a similar support role
  • Comfortable using tools and performing physical tasks
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and willing to support different departments as needed
  • Basic qualifications in building services, maintenance, or manual trades (desirable)
  • Experience in a hotel, club, or hospitality environment (desirable)
  • Familiarity with maintenance logs, task tracking, or work order systems (desirable)
