Responsibilities
- Design, simulation, and experimental validation of photonic neural networks (PNN) on photonic integrated circuits (PIC), such as 'MZI mesh networks', 'reservoir computing', and 'recurrent architectures'.
- Development and advancement of numerical simulation models for optical transmission systems and PNNs using Python/Photontorch/SAX and VPIphotonics.
- Creation of PIC specifications, PIC layouts, PIC characterization, and coordination with PIC foundries and packaging partners.
- Scientific leadership, coordination, and execution of projects within the thematic area.
- Support for acquiring industrial and publicly funded projects.
- Contribution to the development of the thematic area with a focus on commercializing research results with industry partners.
- Presentation of R&D results through project reports, journal articles, and conference presentations.
- Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses.
