About the Role
KPMG's Global Mobility Service (GMS) practice is a fast-growing area within our Tax business, serving major clients with high-profile international engagements. This role involves 360-degree service orientation, including tax technical, client development, and client-facing responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a confident, outward-facing skillset, eager to invest time and energy in the marketplace. Our GMS practice simplifies global workforce management, making it safer and more efficient. Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day global coordination and/or UK service delivery of client engagements, supported by a junior engagement team.
- Manage UK tax compliance and collaborate with the KPMG Centre of Excellence for assignee compliance.
- Participate in all aspects of cross-border advisory, including tax, social security, process, policy, and efficiencies.
- Project manage advisory projects for clients.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in International Social Security, Employment Tax, GMS Technology, Reward, Immigration, and KPMG Member Firms on cross-border projects.
- Provide UK tax technical analysis and advice to clients.
- Engage with clients on current global mobility and UK tax developments.
- Support Engagement Leaders with VIP assignee services, including arrival/departure briefings for senior assignees.
- Develop, maintain, and lead strong client relationships.
- Manage engagement finances with junior support.
- Manage and coach junior staff.
Requirements
- Extensive experience working in expatriate/global mobility tax services in a Big 4 or equivalent firm.
- Prior experience in an in-house Global Mobility / HR team or working overseas is beneficial but not required.
- Energetic, committed, and ambitious.
- High level of personal responsibility and accountability.
- Ability to evaluate and integrate complex information to identify core issues and present practical advice.
- Effective communication skills, both in speech and writing, that are open, honest, consistent, and clear.
- Motivated by a passion for international work, professional proficiency, and a desire to serve, lead, and deliver excellent client service.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work to multiple deadlines, showing resilience under pressure and applying creative thinking to challenging problems.
- Strong tax technical expertise.
- Proven track record of sound professional judgment, including identifying issues and consulting with senior staff.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills to deliver client outcomes and develop team members.
