About the Role

Cleveland Clinic London seeks a Health, Safety and Fire Manager to be the central point of contact for all health, safety, and fire-related matters. This role involves identifying, monitoring, and mitigating risks to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers. The manager will act as the organizational lead, collaborating with senior leaders to implement business controls, policies, and compliance frameworks, fostering a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert resource for all staff levels, including management, on Health, Safety, and Fire matters.
  • Plan, design, and implement controls to manage and improve the health and safety of caregivers, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct process and system evaluations to reduce health and safety risks.
  • Perform audits of policy and compliance to standards, liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across all sites to submit Health and Safety Dashboards and reports, and produce the Annual Health and Safety report.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of external inspections related to HSE and maintain evidence files for compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
  • Lead fire safety compliance, managing actions from internal and external assessments.
  • Develop and deliver H&S and fire training regularly and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Health and Safety Manager.
  • Excellent administrative skills with the ability to balance demands and prioritize workloads.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety gained from working within a complex multi-site setting.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, or experience that offsets the degree.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or currently working towards one.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Role may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
