About the Role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager to join our Health, Science & Education team, supporting a high-profile project within our London Real Estate business. The London Cost Management Health team is highly regarded for delivering major healthcare projects across both the public and private sectors. The team works on a wide range of assignments, from smaller refurbishments to large-scale hospital developments. As part of a broader Health, Science & Education team, this role also offers opportunities to gain experience across additional sectors and develop a diverse range of skills. Turner & Townsend is a leading consultancy within the Health, Science & Education sector. Drawing on extensive expertise, established processes and market intelligence, we deliver high-quality, value-focused services to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Cost Management services, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery or contributing as a key member of larger project teams on complex projects.
  • Support the achievement of client objectives through effective cost management from pre-contract stages through to project completion and handover.
  • Manage procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts effectively.
  • Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of, and experience within, the healthcare and/or education sectors.
  • Ability to guide clients through project stages from feasibility through to completion.
  • Experience working on projects delivered through two-stage tendering.
  • Experience administering JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Experience managing client and stakeholder relationships within a Cost Management environment.
  • Knowledge of the risks, challenges and opportunities facing public-sector healthcare organisations.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, value engineering and lifecycle costing.
  • Experience using CostX or similar measurement software.
