About the Role

This role is a key interface between our German Headquarter, UK government entities, partner(s) and internal departments, managing international suppliers and local contractors on a strategic government project in the UK. The ideal candidate combines strong project governance experience with the ability to thrive in a complex, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for project budget management.
  • Monitor costs, prevent overruns, and ensure transparent financial reporting to HQ.
  • Manage local procurement and mitigate financial risks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between UK-based operations and senior leadership.
  • Provide regular progress reports, risk assessments, and financial updates.
  • Translate local issues into clear data for strategic decision-making.
  • Navigate the processes, reporting lines and decision-making protocols of an international corporate environment.
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Navigate bureaucratic processes to secure permits and approvals.
  • Represent the company in high-level government meetings and presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with local teams contributing to project deliverables.
  • Align priorities, timelines, and resources across functions without direct disciplinary authority.
  • Manage conflicts and competing priorities through negotiation and relationship-building.
  • Ensure the 'why' behind project decisions are clearly communicated to motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle.
  • Apply IT knowledge to coordinate with technical departments and suppliers.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, security, and logistical risks.

Requirements

  • Proven track record managing high-scale, complex projects (government projects preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience of working within international companies and an understanding of corporate governance, compliance, and reporting standards.
  • Proven experience managing international suppliers and contractors across borders and time zones.
  • Demonstrable experience managing significant project budgets.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through teams not under direct line management—influencing, negotiating, and aligning without direct managerial authority.
  • Fluency in English– must be able to write detailed reports and negotiate with international stakeholders.
