About the Role
Drive and oversee the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring objectives are met within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.
Responsibilities
- Create and lead project teams to deliver agreed outputs within scope, time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Promote the wider good in all actions, acting in a morally, legally, and socially appropriate manner.
- Manage project teams on a day-to-day basis.
- Clearly define, agree, and delegate team and key stakeholder roles and responsibilities.
- Develop team capability and foster innovation.
- Empower and inspire others to deliver successful projects.
- Support the project sponsor in preparing, approving, refining, and updating business cases.
- Track and report forecast and actuals against business cases.
- Support the identification, tracking, and delivery of benefits.
- Ensure realization of business benefits by planning and designing project outputs to meet requirements.
- Manage project budgets and control/report on forecasts, changes, and actual costs.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance and decision-making.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
- Design, consolidate, and document fundamental project components (scope, schedule, approach, resources, budgets, risks, issues, quality).
- Establish and implement protocols to change project scope and update configuration documents.
- Develop, produce, and maintain project schedules, considering dependencies, resources, and constraints.
- Map project dependencies and identify owners.
- Build dependency management into the project's governance cycle.
- Act as an arbiter and enforcer to resolve issues between project elements.
- Develop, implement, and update resource allocation plans (excluding finance).
- Identify and manage pertinent project stakeholder relationships and communications.
- Ensure continual alignment with program, portfolio management, and organizational communications.
- Manage internal and external relationships.
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve differences between individuals or interest groups.
- Identify and monitor project risks and issues.
- Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
- Identify and manage interdependencies with related projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering complex projects from initiation through implementation.
- Experience managing projects with multiple workstreams and dependencies.
- Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Experience working within formal project governance frameworks.
- Experience managing project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Experience tracking actual versus planned spend.
- Experience with financial reporting and cost control.
- Experience with business case development and benefit realization tracking.
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Ability to facilitate decision-making and resolve conflicting priorities.
- Experience working across multiple business functions.
- Ability to manage project interdependencies.
- Ability to effectively lead cross-functional project teams.
