About the Role
The Research Team and J.P. Morgan Personal Investing aim to make the organization relentlessly customer-centric. This role involves working with designers, product managers, marketers, and engineers to create customer-led products and services. You will explore user behaviors, needs, and motivations through primary research and contribute to product development from strategic scoping to design and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize research opportunities in collaboration with Design, Product, and other Researchers.
- Lead and advise on research plans, user research strategy, and methods.
- Manage and conduct generative and evaluative research.
- Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.
- Refine the definition and understanding of the target audience for products, services, and features.
- Incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research projects.
- Advocate for and guide the use of customer insights and data to inform decisions.
- Present and communicate user research and recommendations to the organization.
- Support and develop best practices, research methodologies, and frameworks.
- Act as a customer advocate and foster a shared understanding of a customer-first approach.
Requirements
- Experienced with a range of exploratory and evaluative research methods, ideally in product and/or service development.
- Experience in defining best practices and considering working procedures.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working through ambiguity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convince and persuade high-level stakeholders.
- Ability to bring research insights to life for diverse stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Desire to be part of a fast-paced and intellectually curious research team.
- Passion for championing the customer in the development of an investment experience.
