About the Role
As Senior Tax & Filings Specialist for Americas, you will own the statutory compliance for the United States, Brazil, and Mexico. This is the highest-volume and highest-complexity filing role in the Taxes and Filings team. You will be a founding member of the Taxes and Filings team within Multiplier's Payroll Centre of Excellence, owning the Americas statutory compliance framework from Day 1 with full accountability for filings, remittances, reconciliations, and notice management. The role involves setting up the foundation for the Taxes and Filings vertical and converting it into an automated, efficient process.
Responsibilities
- Own every filing and payment for Americas Tier 1 countries at the highest volume in the team.
- File IRS Form 941 quarterly returns, process federal tax deposits (FICA and FUTA) on schedule, and manage state income tax withholding remittances for all states where EoR employees are located.
- File state unemployment insurance (SUI) returns quarterly across all applicable states.
- Issue W-2s to all US EoR employees by January 31 annually and submit ACA reporting where applicable.
- Submit all Brazil eSocial events (S-1200, S-1210, S-1299) before each payroll run via the eSocial web portal.
- Process monthly INSS DARF and FGTS DARF payments, and submit monthly IRRF via DARF.
- Prepare and submit annual DIRF to Receita Federal and manage mandatory 13th salary payments.
- Reconcile eSocial data with the payroll register before each cycle.
- Generate and stamp Mexico SAT CFDI electronic payroll receipts for every salary payment, submitting to SAT via an authorized PAC before each payment.
- File bi-monthly IMSS SUA and INFONAVIT declarations, and submit monthly ISR provisional payment (DIOT to SAT).
- Manage state-level ISN filings for each state where employees are located.
- Maintain internal deadlines at minimum 5 business days before every statutory deadline (10 business days for Brazil).
- Validate Brazil eSocial events (S-2200, S-2206, S-2230) before the payroll run and validate S-1200 data matches the payroll register exactly.
- Flag US new hires in new states to trigger SUI registration and state income tax withholding setup, and review supplemental wage payments for correct federal withholding treatment.
- Confirm Mexico CFDI stamps from the previous cycle were accepted by SAT before the current cycle's payroll run is approved and flag employees with new payment methods or salary changes affecting CFDI structure.
- Review all Americas termination payments for correct statutory treatment (US final pay, Brazil FGTS settlement, Mexico finiquito).
- Complete three-way reconciliation for all Americas Tier 1 countries after every cycle (US: Form 941 liability vs. FICA deposits and payroll register; Brazil: eSocial data vs. INSS DARF, FGTS DARF, and payroll output; Mexico: CFDI stamped amounts vs. payroll register and IMSS/ISR payment confirmations).
- Collect and upload all proof of statutory payment within 2 business days.
- Manage Americas notice management (IRS notices, state tax authority correspondence, Receita Federal notifications, SAT Mexico enquiries), responding within 10 business days.
- Monitor US federal and state-level legislative changes, tracking and implementing updates across all states.
- Monitor Brazilian eSocial table updates, INSS contribution rate changes, FGTS updates, and Receita Federal regulatory publications, implementing changes before the effective date.
- Monitor SAT Mexico CFDI version updates, IMSS contribution rate announcements, and ISN state rate changes, coordinating with the Mexico-based PAC provider.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on Americas payroll statutory compliance experience, directly owning filings and remittances.
- Deep practical knowledge of at least two of the three Tier 1 Americas countries: US multi-state payroll tax compliance, Brazil eSocial and statutory filings, or Mexico SAT CFDI, IMSS, and ISR obligations. Knowledge of all three is strongly preferred.
- Direct experience managing US multi-state payroll tax compliance, including SUI registrations, state income tax withholding table updates, and state-specific payroll tax obligations.
- Hands-on experience with Brazil's eSocial platform, understanding event hierarchy, pre-payroll validation requirements, and correction procedures.
- Experience generating and managing SAT CFDI stamped payroll receipts via an authorized PAC provider in Mexico.
- Track record of 100% on-time statutory filing compliance in a multi-country, high-volume payroll environment.

- Experience in an EoR, PEO, or global payroll technology company is a plus.
- CPP, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
