About the Role

This position is a leadership role within a new outsourcing project responsible for the Basis operation and maintenance of SAP systems. You will lead a Basis team of approximately 5 people, initially taking over operations from another company, and then expanding to a team of 15. You will play a central role in standardizing operations, promoting automation, and collaborating with international members.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP Basis operations, including transfer planning, knowledge transfer, and issue resolution.
• Participate in new SAP implementations, conversions/upgrades, and system operations as a Basis consultant.
• Establish and design the operational team structure.
• Perform operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for SAP systems (S/4HANA, Solman, etc.).
• Manage vendors.
• Conduct regular meetings, coordination, and reviews in English with overseas members and offshore teams.
• Drive operational standardization and automation (e.g., job monitoring, backup, performance tuning).
• Implement quality management with a view to future organizational expansion (to 15 members).

Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in SAP Basis, including SAP product implementation.
• Experience with new installation, migration, conversion/upgrade of SAP products.
• Experience in system requirement definition, environment design, and testing for SAP products.
• General knowledge of surrounding infrastructure environments for SAP, such as cloud and on-premises.
• Ability to communicate smoothly with clients.
• Fluent Japanese level (N1).
