About the Role

This role focuses on program management for major expansion construction projects across the APAC region, overseeing design, construction, and commercial functions. It sits at the front end of the Global Design & Construction funnel, integrating strategy, business case approvals, project pipeline visibility, and capacity planning. The position requires strong communication, partnership-building, stakeholder influence, and accountability driving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Design & Construction team to perform as an industry-leading function across APAC.
  • Coordinate construction, design and commercial functions through the pre-construction process, providing governance around peer/onward reviews and culminating in business case approval.
  • Work with Corporate Development and local business teams to define business needs and strategy, support pipeline visibility and align project priorities with regional capacity needs.
  • Create scalable processes for tracking progress towards on-time delivery, particularly the deliverables required for business case approval gateways.
  • Schedule activities and track project/deliverable progress on a project-by-project basis, culminating in key outputs including business cases, approval materials and executive-ready reporting.
  • Organize communications with stakeholders including design, construction, commercial, external consulting and contracting partners, asset management, real estate and legal; act as a reference point for the team.
  • Hold teams to account on tasks and deliverables, escalating where needed and confidently holding robust conversations across project, design, commercial and leadership stakeholders.
  • Work with Construction Managers, Design Managers and Commercial Managers to ensure alignment, identify creative ways to optimize projects and coach/train teams for an efficient approval process.
  • Support due diligence, site selection and acquisition efforts where required, while maintaining clear focus on the role’s core governance, tracking and approval-readiness remit.
  • Support the preparation of key deliverables for presentation to senior management and executives as part of business case approval.
  • Assist project schedule reviews with construction managers and senior management, including status reporting, risk management and project-readiness tracking.
  • Assist continuous improvement initiatives and develop best practices, including lessons learned, KPI reporting, software/process optimization and training of in-house teams on project management mechanisms and best practices.
  • Report status, successes, challenges and key activities to senior management.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in real project delivery, ideally within data center development, major infrastructure, complex construction or adjacent capital project environments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating internal staff, external consultants, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Strong program/project management capability with the ability to operate across pre-construction, business case gateways, governance, reporting, process improvement and stakeholder alignment.
  • Commercially minded, detail-oriented and confident working with technical, financial, and delivery-focused audiences.
  • Able to handle multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment while keeping baseline responsibilities on track.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge, nudge and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Strong sense of accountability, ownership, urgency and ability to travel within APAC as needed.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook; experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera or equivalent tools preferred.
