About the Role
This role provides parental leave cover for a senior leader within the Legal team, offering strategic and legal leadership during a period of transformation. The position focuses on driving high-quality legal service delivery, leveraging generative AI and data-driven insights to support the organization's mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire the service delivery team through coaching and performance management.
- Manage resourcing and work allocation for all transactional legal matters.
- Provide specialist oversight and quality assurance on complex legal matters.
- Develop and present innovative solutions to complex legal challenges.
- Maintain strategic oversight of business partnering relationships, including the CFO Directorate and Research & Innovation Operations.
- Support the design and delivery of team SLAs and KPIs to ensure operational excellence.
- Develop GenAI legal capabilities and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing across the organization.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent.
- Significant post-qualification experience in-house or in private practice.
- Proven track record of delivering efficient, client-focused legal services.
- Experience designing or improving legal service delivery models and operational processes.
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing external legal providers.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
