About the Role
This role offers a unique opportunity for an England and Wales-qualified solicitor with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience to develop within an in-house legal position at a rapidly expanding, multidisciplinary company. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams, gaining exposure to complex legal matters across consulting, engineering, construction, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and advise on commercial, construction, and engineering contracts for Egis subsidiaries.
- Advise on consultancy and sub-consultancy agreements, framework contracts, NEC3/NEC4, bespoke agreements, collateral warranties, MOUs, teaming agreements, and deeds of novation.
- Provide commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice to senior leaders and operational teams.
- Support the UK corporate restructuring programme.
- Assist with company secretarial duties, including board meetings and resolutions.
- Support debt recovery processes, including statutory demands and pre-action protocol letters.
- Assist with litigation and dispute management.
- Support the management of the UK insurance certificate database.
- Support the implementation of UK and Group ethics and compliance programmes.
- Liaise with external legal counsel within budget and policy guidelines.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with at least 2 years' PQE.
- Completed training contract within a reputable UK private-practice law firm.
- Strong post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction, engineering, or projects work.
- Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction, engineering, and commercial contracts.
- Experience with consultancy agreements and standard-form or bespoke project contracts.
- Minimum 2:1 law degree or equivalent qualification route, including the SQE.
- Interest in legal technology and/or experience using AI tools for legal service delivery.
