About the Role

As an experienced Senior Process Analyst at UNSW, you will lead business process analysis for major enterprise-wide initiatives, focusing on the Learning Management System (LMS). You will partner with senior stakeholders to design solutions, improve processes, and identify data-driven strategies aligned with the University's objectives. This role involves influencing key decisions, enhancing organizational capability, and contributing to the development of UNSW's business analysis practice through mentoring and promoting best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end business process analysis for Learning Management System transformation, including problem identification, process definition, design, testing support, and post-implementation review.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to identify strategic requirements, assess impacts, and align business and technology outcomes with UNSW's LMS strategic objectives.
  • Design and document 'as-is' and 'to-be' business processes and solution models spanning multiple systems and functional units.
  • Develop or contribute to LMS business solutions, feasibility studies, and options analysis.
  • Define and recommend appropriate business process analysis approaches, toolsets, and deliverables for major projects, ensuring alignment with University standards.
  • Guide and mentor other process analysts to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with enterprise architecture and project objectives.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, data and integration teams, and testers to ensure solutions meet business needs and technical constraints.
  • Engage in and support enterprise testing, including defining test cases, user acceptance testing, and validation of deliverables.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of relevant University systems, data models, processes, and interdependencies to advise on enterprise impacts.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of institutional business analysis standards, documentation templates, and quality assurance practices.
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
  • Ensure hazards and risks (psychosocial and physical) are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities posing a health and safety risk.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent competence gained through education, training, and experience.
  • Significant experience (typically 10+ years) as a business process analyst in large, complex organisations, with demonstrated ability to lead strategic and enterprise-scale initiatives, particularly in Learning Management Systems.
  • Higher Educational experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within structured and agile delivery environments (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • High-level expertise in business process analysis techniques and tools, including process mapping, data analysis, requirements elicitation, solution evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience with a human-centred design approach, change integration, developing business solutions and processes, contributing to procurement or vendor selection processes, and supporting implementation of Learning Management Systems and enterprise platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex interdependencies and develop practical solutions.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated leadership in guiding, mentoring, or reviewing the work of other analysts.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, enterprise systems, data governance, CRM, ERP, or integration platforms is desirable.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
