About the Role

Lead Sydney Metro's corporate governance function, overseeing frameworks, policies, and practices to support effective decision-making. You will manage a team of four, provide strategic governance leadership, and ensure the effective operation of key governance forums. This role involves leading the Secretariat function, supporting a high-volume meeting cadence, and partnering closely with Board Directors, Committee Members, and senior executives.

Responsibilities

Leading the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Executive Committee Secretariat function
Providing expert corporate governance advice to senior leaders and Board stakeholders
Driving the ongoing enhancement of governance, policy and delegation frameworks
Delivering governance uplift initiatives and promoting governance capability across the organisation

Requirements

Seasoned corporate governance professional with extensive experience supporting Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and executive governance forums within complex, highly regulated environments
Strong company secretariat expertise
Credibility, judgement and stakeholder management skills required to partner effectively with Board Directors, Committee Members and senior executives
Proven track record developing and enhancing governance frameworks, corporate policies and delegation frameworks
Experience leading governance uplift and continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Strong project management skills to deliver outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability
