About the Role
This role is part of a team that manages the full documentation lifecycle, including updates and regulatory reporting for Japan domiciled products. The Product Management & Governance function is at the centre of a significant transformation within Product, aiming to increase efficiency and focus on value-added activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure product documentation is of the highest standard, in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure all product management activities comply with internal and external product governance requirements.
- Manage all document disclosures/updates and production processes for Japan domiciled products.
- Manage all regulatory filings for Japan domiciled products.
- Publish all required documents to various distribution channels.
- Manage product and document updates to meet regulatory timelines.
- Monitor regulations and their implementation in documentation.
- Provide ongoing assessment and interpretation of regulations and liaise with all functions.
- Manage implementation according to regulatory timelines and deadlines.
- Lead discussions with RC, Legal, Fund Trustees, and other stakeholders.
- Manage the printing and delivery to distributors.
- Oversee the production process for Key Information Sheets.
- Liaise with Head of Product and other product verticals to support new developments.
- Deliver high-quality product documentation that is efficient to manage.
- Review the existing book of business to ensure funds remain profitable and fit for purpose.
- Implement enhancements and corrective actions for funds.
- Deliver and implement regulatory change within documentation.
- Assist in governance-related approvals and provide recommendations.
- Execute initiatives to streamline processes through technology or offshoring.
- Support the business by providing appropriate information and documentation.
- Develop working relationships with colleagues in the Product and wider product function globally.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
- Coordinate with other functions/teams and stakeholders within AM and the HSBC Group.
- Manage the product lifecycle according to the fund governance framework and product policies.
- Improve efficiency through offshoring and systemizing delivery of standard documentation and processes.
- Maintain and improve product documentation to the highest standards.
- Operate in accordance with AM FIM, AM policies, and the Terms of Reference of the GNBC/LNBCs.
- Own, monitor, and report on Controls for global & Japan funds.
Requirements
- Previous experience in investment management and knowledge of investment strategies & techniques, asset classes and asset management products.
- Previous experience in managing fund documentation and working with stakeholders and Trustees to meet regulatory filings obligations and timelines.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Capacity to engage with various stakeholders and to coordinate complex projects.
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite) is required.
- Strong self-motivation to tightly follow up with various parties at all times.
