About the Role
This position is a key IT resource for Marvell Japan, ensuring efficient support for local users and operations. The role is crucial for maintaining IT services across Marvell's Japan offices.
Responsibilities
- Support Marvell Japan offices and users for IT day-to-day operations and projects.
- Provide desktop support, including Marvell standard computer system setup and maintenance.
- Perform basic onsite troubleshooting and support for various devices.
- Manage IT accessories.
- Assist functional teams and peers with cellphone app and desktop support.
- Collaborate with teams and vendors on IT room maintenance and hardware repair.
- Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting on meeting room devices.
- Support communication and collaboration tools.
- Assist with phone circuit installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic onsite troubleshooting and support on network systems.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance on wired/wireless systems.
- Assign and collect IT assets and accessories from users.
- Manage IT inventory, including user acceptance and asset updates.
- Perform inventory and asset physical counts.
- Manage IT asset disposal and destruction.
- Perform new hardware installations in the IT room.
- Conduct routine hardware checks for servers, network devices, and storage systems.
- Perform environmental routine checks in the IT room and address related issues.
- Complete other tasks assigned by Marvell.
Requirements
- Provide IT support to all Marvell Japan offices/users (Tokyo, Osaka, Hiratsuka).
- Strong troubleshooting capability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- A good team player.
- Fluent English is required.
- Mandarin proficiency is a plus for supporting multinational teams.
- Candidates are not permitted to use AI tools during interviews.
- Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information.
Skills
- Diagnosing and resolving Windows/macOS issues, application errors, system performance problems, and peripheral device failures.
- Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and imaging tools.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and basic switch/port checks.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow, or similar platforms for incident, request, and asset management.
- Familiarity with SCCm, Intune, JAMF, or similar tools for imaging, patching, and device configuration.
- Strong customer-service mindset with clear, patient communication.
- Understanding of corporate security policies, MFA, antivirus tools, and data-protection practices.
- Skilled in conference room setup, AV equipment support, office IT moves, and vendor coordination.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong ownership of incidents.
- Ability to work independently or within cross-functional IT teams.
- Excellent documentation and follow-through.
