About the Role

Lead the Data Transformation, an enterprise-wide initiative that spans business, technology, risk, compliance and operational teams. Join an inflight project to deliver a multi-year program of work that strengthens data management practices, data risk management, and data literacy across the organisation. Drive strategic outcomes, ensure effective governance, and translate the organisation's data strategy into practical, measurable business improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Data and the General Manager Enterprise Enablement to lead and oversee the delivery of data management initiatives and the successful achievement of project objectives.
  • Lead the on-going planning, execution, and monitoring of the Data Management Transformation project.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage project scope, timeline, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes for data management.
  • Deliver the project in line with the requirements of the ASX Delivery Framework.
  • Provide project reporting (dependency, change and demand) to divisional and cross divisional forums.
  • Work with finance and project team on budget oversight.
  • Manage dependencies and other interactions with the Accelerate program.
  • Facilitate check-in meetings and planning sessions to align team priorities and remove blockers.
  • Prepare and deliver Executive and Board‑level reporting on ADF transformation progress, adoption, risks, compliance and outcomes.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support regulatory and audit oversight/assurance of the initiatives.
  • Monitor delivery performance and provide clear reporting to governance forums and senior leadership.
  • Ensure appropriate change plan and strategy is adopted for the project.
  • Support senior members of the team with providing input and feedback on policies, processes and tooling.
  • Drive and contribute to building a data focused culture and a high data literacy at ASX.
  • Ensure successful enterprise-wide implementation and adoption of uplift delivered by the project.
  • Actively engage and influence stakeholders across ASX to build understanding, advocacy and commitment to the Data Transformation.
  • Work closely with Enterprise OCM team to enable clear communication, collaboration and change leadership.
  • Adhere to ASX processes, ASX Delivery Framework methodologies, standards and policies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative EE culture by role‑modelling ASX values and actively breaking down silos.
  • Work across teams and divisions to share knowledge, resolve issues and improve end‑to‑end enterprise outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members and/or practitioners, supporting capability uplift, performance and effective ways of working.
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and the ability to coach, develop and support others.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous and changing environments, managing competing priorities and trade‑offs.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and build a deep understanding of the role’s function and the broader ASX context.
  • Lead with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused and risk‑informed style, balancing pace with proportionate governance and risk management.
  • Support the Head of Data Office and General Manager Enterprise Enablement through strategic counsel, issue resolution and delivery of agreed enterprise priorities.
  • Present insights and recommendations to management and Executive forums.
  • Undertake other activities reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Enterprise Enablement function.
  • Contribute to One ASX culture and adhere to values and cultural expectations.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in business, technology, project management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex programs or large-scale financial services projects, preferably enterprise‑wide or cross‑functional in nature.
  • Strong program or project delivery experience, including governance, planning, dependency management and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex delivery plans and stakeholder expectations at varied levels of seniority.
  • Proven ability to manage multi‑stream delivery, interdependencies, risks and vendors in hybrid or agile environments.
  • Senior‑level experience managing program budgets and working closely with Finance to ensure robust financial governance and reporting.
  • Experience delivering programs within regulated environments, supporting compliance and assurance requirements.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, and the ability to view and explain complex topics in simple terms.
  • Experience working with executive governance forums, steering committees and senior leadership teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery execution.
  • Strong capability in executive and Board‑level reporting, including clear communication of progress, risks, adoption and outcomes.
  • Experience presenting insights and recommendations at Executive and management‑level forums.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build enterprise‑wide buy‑in for transformational change.
  • Experience joining and leading an inflight program of work.
  • Experience leading data, governance, technology (cyber or digital), regulatory or data remediation programs of work.
  • Working knowledge of a fully integrated Exchange environment would be beneficial.
  • Program/project management certification – PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum Master.
  • Exposure to enterprise data strategy development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of data management, data risks & controls.
  • Experience working with a data management framework (industry recognised or organisation specific).
  • Experience transitioning strategic initiatives into sustainable business-as-usual operations.
  • Results orientated – understands what levers to pull to drive outcomes in a tightly regulated but changing environment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
