About the Role
We are building a new Data Products factory capability within Private Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM) and seek a Senior Analytics Engineer to define the data layers powering our Analytics, AI, reporting, and self-service capabilities. This hands-on role involves designing, governing, and delivering trusted data products, influencing data structure, governance, and consumption across PBWM.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative data-driven solutions through data pipelines, modeling, and design.
- Drive customer value by understanding business problems and applying appropriate tools for data solutions.
- Support strategic direction by engaging with the data engineering community and delivering opportunities.
- Build a scalable data architecture through complex data engineering tasks.
- Understand the Data Product ecosystem and contribute to the design and delivery of reusable Data Products.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into canonical and semantic data models.
- Design and evolve standardized, cross-domain data models (e.g., party, account, deposit, mortgages) aligned with the enterprise data model.
- Build and maintain governed analytical data products, ensuring they are well-documented, discoverable, and consistently used.
- Define and implement data quality checks, SLAs, and governance practices.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, BI teams, and data scientists to ensure scalable and performant models on a cloud data platform.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of data usage and dependencies.
- Experience extracting value and features from large-scale data.
- Practical experience with programming languages.
- Knowledge of data and software engineering fundamentals.
- Significant experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, or Data Architect in complex, data-rich environments.
- Proven track record of managing governed data products with clear ownership, SLAs, documentation, and quality controls.
- Strong track record designing canonical data models that standardize entities across multiple systems or domains.
- Strong track record designing semantic layers that present data clearly to different audiences or stakeholders.
- Excellent SQL and data modeling skills on modern formats like iceberg on AWS.
- Confidence working on large and complex datasets in the cloud.
- Hands-on experience with modern analytics engineering practices (transformation-as-code, testing, version control, automated deployment).
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts in simple terms.
- Ability to lead workshops with non-technical stakeholders.
