About the Role

We are seeking a part-time professional to join our team in Berlin and contribute to shaping our financial foundations with precision and foresight. This role offers a clearly defined area of responsibility with real scope for development within a dynamic, project-based organization.

Responsibilities

  • Project controlling for artistic productions, ensuring budgets align with reality.
  • Budget, liquidity, and forecast planning for the organization, including budget-to-actual comparisons and scenario analysis.
  • Prepare management reporting for the CFO and budget holders on a monthly and quarterly basis, including ad-hoc analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure alignment between controlling and accounting figures.
  • Monitor fund utilization in compliance with German non-profit law and restricted project funding.
  • Develop and enhance controlling processes and reporting standards.

Requirements

  • A degree in business administration or economics, or a comparable qualification through training and professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in controlling, preferably in project-based or non-profit organizations.
  • Sound knowledge of financial planning, controlling, and accounting.
  • Basic understanding of German non-profit law, or the willingness to acquire it quickly.
  • Confident use of accounting and finance systems, ideally DATEV, and MS 365.
  • Very good German (C1 level) and good English (B2 level) language skills.
  • Structured, precise, and self-directed work approach, with the ability to make complex financial matters understandable.
  • Interest in the workings of projects in art, science, and technology.
