About the Role
We are seeking a Host for Gowings Bar & Grill, a high-energy dining room in Sydney, to be the welcoming face of the establishment. The ideal candidate will match the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere, excel at reading a room, and create a memorable first impression for guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with warmth, confidence, and QT flair, anticipating their needs.
- Manage guest seating, table turns, and bookings to ensure smooth service flow.
- Complete operational checklists and tasks efficiently during shifts.
- Escalate issues or incidents promptly.
- Support the food and beverage team with POS operation, cash handling, stock control, and venue presentation.
- Communicate with the team to optimize service times and support other departments.
- Champion the Gowings and QT brand.
- Build strong product knowledge.
- Assist in training and guiding new team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a host role at a restaurant or hospitality venue is ideal.
- Ability to manage guest expectations.
- Experience supporting fast-paced food & beverage service.
- Strong communication skills.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Genuine work ethic.
- Polished, professional presence.
