About the Role
We are seeking a Host for Gowings Bar & Grill, a high-energy dining room in Sydney, to be the welcoming face of the establishment. The ideal candidate will excel at making a strong first impression, understanding the dynamics of the room, and embodying the unique style of Gowings.
Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with warmth, confidence, and anticipation of their needs.
- Manage guest seating, table turns, and bookings to ensure smooth service flow.
- Complete all operational checklists and tasks efficiently during shifts.
- Escalate issues or incidents promptly.
- Support the food and beverage team with POS operation, cash handling, stock control, and venue presentation.
- Communicate with the team to optimize service times and support other departments.
- Champion the Gowings and QT brand, develop product knowledge, and assist in training new team members.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a host role at a restaurant or hospitality venue is ideal.
- Ability to manage guest expectations and support fast-paced food and beverage service.
- Strong communication skills.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Genuine work ethic.
- Polished, professional presence with an eye for aesthetics.
