About the Role

ESR Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant for their Sydney team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role is crucial for preparing monthly and year-end accounting, financial and management reporting, and tax compliance activities for the corporate group. You will support the Finance team in delivering accurate financial information, maintaining financial controls, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare workpapers and accounts for month-end close and reporting, including bank reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, depreciation, and ROU accounting.
  • Manage and process monthly property management, leasing, and other fees, collaborating with internal stakeholders for accurate accounting outcomes.
  • Prepare and maintain co-investment accounting, monthly reconciliations, and variance analysis to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, ESR Group reporting requirements, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including BAS preparation, income tax returns, ATO reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system optimization projects, and the integration of technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CA/CPA qualification or close to completion.
  • Experience using Yardi within the real estate, property, or funds management industry is highly regarded.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, results-driven approach with strong integrity, accountability, and work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement, automation, and leveraging technology.
