About the Role
PlayStation is seeking a System Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate the system infrastructure supporting PlayStation manufacturing. This role involves working with highly available, secure, and mission-critical systems for manufacturing lines, supply chains, and security management, requiring stable operation and data protection. You will collaborate with global manufacturing sites and related departments on the design, improvement, and operation of on-premises and Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate system infrastructure considering high availability, security, and operability.
- Operate and improve Kubernetes-based container infrastructure.
- Perform system operations including monitoring, incident response, and performance improvement.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools for operational efficiency and automation.
- Design and operate infrastructure considering integrity and fault tolerance for mission-critical data.
- Participate in security enhancement measures, including HSM and key management infrastructure.
- Promote improvement and modernization of legacy environments.
- Deploy and support systems at global manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with external development partners, conduct technical reviews, manage quality, and track progress.
- Drive continuous improvement through analysis of operational issues and incidents.
Requirements
- Experience in infrastructure design, build, and operation in Linux/on-premises environments.
- Experience operating Kubernetes or container infrastructure.
- Experience in system operation considering high availability and security.
- Experience in system incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvement.
- Ability to communicate in English for business purposes.
- Ability to participate in English meetings and read/write technical documents in English.
- Native level Japanese proficiency.
