About the Role

The Treatment Services division at S:US promotes person-centered services focused on recovery, independence, and community inclusion through evidence-based practices and data-driven accountability.

Responsibilities

• Create a sense of community through the mutual sharing of lived experiences.
• Maintain professional boundaries when working with participants.
• Maintain a caseload and supervise peer specialists.
• Facilitate engagement with teams by forging strong connections with participants and families.
• Conduct outreach activities to promote community awareness of S:US services.
• Encourage help-seeking and bridge gaps between team members and participants.
• Develop meaningful relationships through empathy, listening, and collaboration.
• Advocate for and facilitate access to health care services while addressing barriers like stigma and transportation.
• Facilitate educational, recovery, wellness, and skill-building groups.
• Collaborate with participants to develop wellness toolkits and personal visions.
• Support participants in building self-awareness and life skills.
• Accompany individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Provide non-clinical crisis support and assist with crisis or recovery plans.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of interactions and services.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, coaching, and professional development.
• Explore community spaces to promote integration and inclusion.

Requirements

• Certification or Provisional certification as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or CRPA certification.
• Active participation in self-help, peer support, or peer advocacy programs.
• Lived experience with the Mental Health and/or Substance Use Treatment system.
• Willingness to share personal recovery story appropriately for empowerment.
• Understanding of the local community and available resources.
• Experience working with families and youth/children.
• Demonstrated positive progress toward personal recovery.
• Excellent judgment and understanding of professional boundaries.
• Ability to document needs with a trauma-informed and culturally competent lens.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
