About the Role
Lead onsite plant operations and ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant delivery of 24/7 maintenance services across a mission-critical data center facility. This role supervises the Plant Operations team, oversees maintenance programs, manages operational risk, and ensures services meet client standards, SLAs, and KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Maintenance Services to client SLA and KPI requirements while supporting continuous facility uptime and safe 24/7 operations.
- Provide direction and leadership to the onsite Plant Operations team, ensuring sufficient qualified personnel are available.
- Monitor workload and resources against KPI and budget constraints.
- Initiate and manage site reviews covering maintenance standards, equipment health, change control, single points of failure, and operational risk.
- Benchmark facility performance against commissioning documents, manufacturer recommendations, industry standards, and comparable facilities.
- Create and maintain the preventive maintenance schedule, raise corrective maintenance work orders, and manage activity records within the client’s CMMS.
- Monitor BMS, PMS, safety systems, and other monitoring platforms, identifying deviations and notifying the client promptly.
- Conduct periodic facility rounds and inspections, and ensure findings are reported to the client.
- Ensure all services are performed in compliance with client policies, safety requirements, and company electrical safety programs.
- Verify that relevant personnel hold valid Certificates of Qualification and meet all applicable federal and local regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, monitor, and direct the performance of Maintenance Services, ensuring maintenance documentation meets required standards.
- Ensure strong data governance of asset and maintenance information within the CMMS.
- Ensure site operations, including incident management and escalation, are carried out in accordance with approved client and Cushman & Wakefield procedures.
- Proactively communicate risks, SLA status, operational concerns, and improvement actions to the client and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience in critical facility operations, maintenance management, or engineering within a mission-critical environment.
- Experience in a supervisory role overseeing maintenance teams in a Tier III or equivalent data center or mission-critical facility is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of facility mechanical and electrical infrastructure systems, safety regulations, and preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, maintenance program development, client relationship management, and operational reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide teams and manage client-facing operational issues.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability, including in emergency and incident response situations.
- Proficiency in CMMS platforms for maintenance scheduling, work order management, and activity reporting.
- Familiarity with BMS/PMS monitoring systems and the ability to interpret facility operations data and performance trends.
- Proficiency in CMMS and operations management software, with familiarity in BI or reporting dashboard tools.
