About the Role

The Revenue Cycle Management Team Leader oversees and supports a team responsible for patient intake, insurance information collection, and medical record processing for the Syracuse-based CCBHC Outpatient Program to ensure payment for services.

Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel dealing with patient billing.
  • Assign work based on completion requirements.
  • Provide supervision in conjunction with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management and Program Service Directors.
  • Assess patient billing and set measurable goals for continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, hiring, terminations, scheduling, time-off requests, timecard management, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation, regulations, and rulings relative to insurance and Medicaid programs.
  • Counsel and advise clients regarding programs and Revenue Cycle Management procedures.
  • Administer Medicaid programs through interpretation and implementation of regulations.
  • Oversee the intake process to ensure proper verification of information and documentation.
  • Oversee initial notification for authorization.
  • Monitor billing error reports and aging billed/unbilled trends.
  • Oversee the preparation of fiscal operations reports and insurance carrier program applications.
  • Research data, compile statistics, and provide details for reports and questionnaires.
  • Coordinate service authorization with insurance providers and clinical staff.
  • Ensure records are maintained and accessible in accordance with audit requirements and regulations.
  • Provide details for responses to audits and program reviews.
  • Complete special assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree in finance, education, administration, or a combination of related experience preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership and managerial role, including staff supervision.
  • Expertise in the design, development, and administration of automated billing systems and electronic processing of patient account data.
  • Proactive approach with sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in coding and Medicaid billing strongly desirable.
