About the Role
Caring Approach is seeking a compassionate and reliable Greek Speaking Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their homes and community across Sydney. This casual role supports independence, dignity, and wellbeing while fostering meaningful relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support in clients' homes.
- Assist with showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Complete domestic assistance including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Assist with medication prompting and support.
- Support clients with daily living activities and community participation.
- Transport clients to medical appointments, shopping, and social outings.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and required documentation.
- Support clients to achieve their individual goals and maximise independence.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate fluently in Greek and English.
- Experience in disability support, aged care, or community services (preferred).
- Certificate III or higher in Disability, Aged Care, or Community Services, or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
- Minimum six months' experience providing personal care (preferred).
- Understanding of person-centred care practices.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Driver's Licence and own fully insured vehicle (preferred).
- Smartphone capable of installing workplace applications.
- Appropriate Australian working rights.
- Completion of the NDIS New Worker Orientation Module, or willingness to complete during induction.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently and within a team.
- Experience supporting elderly Greek-speaking participants (desirable).
- Experience supporting clients living with dementia or complex care needs (desirable).
- Medication administration competency (desirable).
- Strong understanding of culturally sensitive and inclusive care practices (desirable).
