About the Role
This position is within the Securities & Payments (S&P) Technology testing team and will have the primary responsibility for conducting functional and automation tests on applications within the S&P Line of Business (LOB) applications. You will focus on the CHESS applications, working closely with a team of testers and collaborating with technology teams & delivery teams on all initiatives within the Program of work and across LOB. You are a practitioner/team member of the Quality Engineering and Testing Capability Community of Practice (CoP).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for test design, using own in-depth technical analysis of functional and non-functional specifications, requirements and solution architecture.
- Design, code, verify, amend and refactor test automation code and scripts.
- Design, build and maintain a test automation suite using inhouse built automation tool.
- Ensure traceability records exist from tests back to requirements.
- Assist the Test Manager/Test Lead in test planning and specifying requirements for test environments, test data and tools.
- Work closely with BAs, Developers, Support Analysts and Business Stakeholders to ensure understanding of the requirements and to develop test cases, maintain test artifacts, communicate test status and issues.
- Learn and use of automation tools developed internally and externally.
- Contribute to the selection of the test automation approach for projects.
- Apply agreed standards and tools, to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
- Participate in reviews of own work and lead reviews of colleagues’ work.
- Responsible for interpreting and executing complex test scripts, analysing results and maintaining a defect register.
- Provide reports on progress, anomalies and risks & issues associated with the overall project or release. You’ll also report on system quality and collect metrics on tests and results.
- Support and implement the ASX Software Testing Policy and Guidelines within the context of the assigned work and tools used.
- Create and maintain relevant documentation.
- Being an active member of the QE&T Community of Practice (CoP).
Requirements
- A minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in software testing.
- Strong Experience in test automation and automation principals and strategies.
- Minimum Automation Experience of 7 years in Java,C#, test automation frameworks, Oracle, SQL Server.
- Experience in different phases of testing and writing test cases for system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, UAT, IWT & parallel testing etc.
- Experience in test environment and test data setup.
- Experience with test management tools such as JIRA and confluence.
- Proven experience in test design based on in-depth technical and requirements analysis.
- Use of different Test management tools.
- Demonstrable ability to analyse complex technical requirements, review architecture documents and solution design, and determine appropriate test approach and best engineering practices based on technical design.
- Worked in an environment with a structured test process, performing automated System and System Integration testing.
- Worked in financial industry and understand the concepts of clearing and settlement services.
- Worked as part of an agile, cross-functional team.
- Demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and DevOps.
- Created and maintained automated test code and scripts, run automated tests and interpreted & reviewed results from automated test runs.
- Had exposure to testing at the UI and the API level.
- Had exposure to SQL query writing and have basic database skills.
- Had exposure to XML or other message parsing.
- Understanding of different Non-Functional Testing concepts.
- Ability to multi-task and be comfortable with frequently changing priorities.
- Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
