About the Role

The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks a self-directed and compassionate individual to serve as a Peer Educator. This role involves collaborating across recovery and prevention programs, delivering evidence-based programming, and providing one-on-one support to individuals in recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based programming in local community-based settings (treatment facilities, recovery programs, criminal justice settings).
  • Meet one-on-one with individuals in recovery.
  • Assist with the harm reduction program.
  • Facilitate the Recovery Coach Academy series.
  • Assist with prevention community events.
  • Provide one-time presentations in community-based organizations and local school districts.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Must enjoy community engagement.
  • Must be comfortable working with community members from all backgrounds and ages.
  • Must work towards recovery and prevention credentials (CRPA, CPS) upon hire.
