About the Role
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the technical and organizational leadership of the employees assigned to them within their shift. They ensure a safe, quality-compliant, and efficient production process and guarantee compliance with production targets, quality standards, occupational safety regulations, and operational guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Technical responsibility and leadership of a product-overlapping production shift (approx. 8–15 employees), including initiating and participating in employee discussions.
- Participation in production planning and implementation of the production plan.
- Ensuring a smooth production process.
- Compliance with production targets and quality standards.
- Participation in personnel deployment planning (creation of shift, duty, and vacation plans).
- Interface to production management, as well as close cooperation with process development, quality assurance, and engineering.
- Technical training of new employees.
- Coordination and support for instructions on occupational safety and operational health care.
- Monitoring and operation of production facilities.
- Support with maintenance and repair.
- Control of process flows and adherence to work instructions.
- Documentation of production data, downtimes, and special incidents.
- Coordination of shift handovers ("shift book", work preparation).
- Interface to production management and close cooperation with technology, quality assurance, and development.
- Participation in the continuous optimization of processes and quality management.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training, e.g., in an electrical/technical field (e.g., mechatronics, electronics, microtechnology) with further training or comparable professional experience.
- 4 years of professional experience in production, e.g., of electronic assemblies.
- Willingness to work in a multi-shift model.
- Strong communication skills and assertiveness.
- Ability for independent, structured, and forward-looking work.
- Dexterity and very good fine motor skills.
- Enjoyment in motivating employees.
- High sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Knowledge in the areas of quality assurance, process flows, and machine technology is desirable.
- Good English skills are desirable.
