About the Role
Care Coordinators serve as the primary point of contact for patients, setting the tone for the clinical experience through professional, organized, and warm interactions. This fast-paced role requires multitasking, ownership, and the ability to support both patients and the clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
- Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and phone calls
- Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals
- Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, and filling cancellations
- Collect copays and patient payments accurately
- Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining organized
- Strong communication skills for phone interactions
- Basic computer proficiency including email and spreadsheets
