About the Role

The Machinist is responsible for setting up machines for Operators and has experience reading drawings and manufacturing parts.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and inspect detailed parts from drawings using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment).
  • Perform mathematical and geometrical calculations.
  • Determine how to set up machines based on instructions received and perform minor repairs of equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency levels.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret process worksheets, inspect parts, set-up, operate and maintain set-ups of machines, and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to set up CNC lathes and mills preferred (6+ months or machinist schooling).
  • Wire EDM and waterjet experience are preferred.
  • This position may require exposure to export-controlled information and subject to additional security screening.
