About the Role

Manage, investigate, and resolve attorney represented and litigated auto and homeowner's bodily injury claims. Assist in providing prompt and quality service to policyholders for mild to moderate severity and/or complexity claims.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, investigate, and resolve claims.
  • Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and settle claims within prescribed authority levels.
  • Identify potential suspicious claims and refer to SIU.
  • Identify opportunities for third-party subrogation.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and conferences.
  • Report claim status to Home Office and local management.
  • Confer with trial counsel and prepare trial reports.
  • Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather claim information.
  • Refer tasks to auxiliary resources as necessary.
  • Advise on the proper course of action for claims.
  • Respond to various written and telephone inquiries, including status reports.
  • Ensure adequacy of reserves.
  • Maintain accountability for the security of financial processing of claims and claim file information.
  • Update files and provide comprehensive reports as required.
  • Manage the practices and billing activities of outside and in-house counsel.
  • Attend and actively engage during mandatory training.

Requirements

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated competency of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage, and State Tort Law.
  • Ability to obtain proper licensing as required.
  • Applicants residing in Washington state, California, or the District of Columbia are not eligible at this time.
