About the Role
As a Produce Manager, you will lead the produce department, ensuring high-quality merchandising, inventory management, and an extraordinary customer service experience. You will coach and develop team members while maintaining a fast-paced, friendly environment focused on healthy choices.
Responsibilities
- Manage sales and operations of the Produce Department
- Oversee quality control, merchandising, and department cleanliness
- Manage inventory levels
- Coach, evaluate, and develop team members through performance reviews
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion or transfer decisions
- Address team member concerns and document corrective actions
- Create and adjust staff schedules to ensure productivity
- Communicate company standards, policies, and product knowledge
- Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- 1-3 years of grocery retail experience with management experience in produce
- Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
- Ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation
- Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations
- Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and maneuver six-wheel carts
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles per shift
- Obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, and financial goals
