About the Role

The Messaging & Rewards area within Growth Marketing is responsible for delivering timely, relevant, and measurable customer communications and incentives. As a Data Engineer, you will help build the data foundation that powers these use cases across various channels, focusing on creating reliable, scalable, and well-governed data pipelines and datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and scale data pipelines with a focus on data quality.
  • Make technical decisions within the team.
  • Rapidly develop next-generation scalable, flexible, and high-performance data pipelines.
  • Solve data and data pipeline issues, prioritizing based on customer impact.
  • Own data quality end-to-end in core datasets and data pipelines.
  • Experiment with new tools and technologies to drive innovative engineering solutions.
  • Provide tools that improve data quality company-wide.
  • Provide self-organizing tools to help the analytics community discover, assess, and explore data.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for technical and business stakeholders regarding data engineering issues.
  • Acquire technical, behavioral, and interpersonal competence advancement through various opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar data-focused role.
  • Proven knowledge of Python.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines and data processing systems in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience designing systems end-to-end.
  • Solid understanding of architecture fundamentals such as APIs, distributed systems, storage, caching, data modeling, and system reliability.
  • Practical experience with modern data and orchestration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, DBT, CDC patterns, cloud storage, and related data engineering tools.
  • Experience working with data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Comfortable owning data products and services in production, including monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, documentation, and on-call support.
  • Ability to balance business needs, technical constraints, and long-term maintainability.
  • Actively look for opportunities to improve process efficiency, platform quality, and engineering standards.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with developers, product managers, ML scientists, and ML engineers.
  • Ability to translate requirements into robust technical solutions that enable high-quality data products.
