About the Role

First Order Effects is building the infrastructure for the robotic era. This role owns the physical operations of the office and warehouse, including managing vendors, buildouts, and ensuring the facility runs smoothly so the team can focus on building.

Responsibilities

• Run the warehouse, including organization, storage, inventory, and receiving.
• Manage day-to-day office and facilities operations, including space planning, furniture, and general upkeep.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for landlords and property management, handling maintenance requests and lease compliance.
• Source, schedule, and oversee contractors and service vendors, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, quality, and safety.
• Manage electrical installs, conference room buildouts, and future expansions, including permits and inspections.
• Set up and manage building services such as utilities, internet, waste management, and HVAC maintenance.
• Oversee shipping and receiving, including inbound/outbound logistics and compliant shipping of dangerous goods.
• Track company assets and equipment, maintaining current maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate physical security, access control, workplace safety, and secure storage.
• Purchase supplies, equipment, and MRO items, and manage vendor POs.
• Track the facilities budget in collaboration with the Chief of Staff and finance.
• Plan and execute moves, new-site setups, and expansions.
• Support other operational projects as needed.

Requirements

• 3-6 years in operations, facilities, or site operations, ideally in hardware, manufacturing, logistics, or a fast-scaling company.
• Hands-on and resourceful with experience in warehouse operations, troubleshooting, lease negotiation, and vendor management.
• Proactive and safety-minded with the ability to anticipate needs.
• Highly organized with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Clear communicator with sound judgment and discretion.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to export-control requirements.
