About the Role
The school is an independent, coeducational day school dedicated to providing an excellent instructional program for children with language-based learning disabilities. The multisensory curriculum is designed for students of average to superior intelligence who can benefit from the unique educational experience provided.
Responsibilities
- In the absence of a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to tenant and client calls, and complete assigned facility support, clean-up, maintenance, moving, event support, set-up, and repair work.
- Conduct physical inspections of the facility, grounds, premises, hallways, common areas, and restrooms, noting anything in need of repair, maintenance, clean-up, or is a hazard, and report to appropriate building staff for resolution.
- Perform minor repairs to facilities and premises, including painting, patching, office and kitchen equipment, furniture, walls, ceiling tiles, carpeting, and floor tiles.
- Physically move furniture, equipment, boxes, and materials for meeting and conference room set-ups, facility events, tenant move-ins and move-outs, freight shipping and delivery, supplies, and stocking.
- Support skilled trade personnel at a facility or complex in the performance and completion of their duties.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, cleaning, repairs, moving, freight/docks, or mechanical work.
- Ability to use computers for work order processing and email communications.
- Must possess a level of accuracy and neatness.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position including bending, squatting, stretching and lifting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds on occasion.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use computers for work order processing, e-mail communications.
- Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing.
- Ability to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics
