About the Role

The Technical Designer ensures garments meet brand fit, quality, and construction standards from development through production. This role manages tech packs, supports fit sessions, evaluates samples, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure styles are production-ready.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs including sketches, measurements, grading rules, and construction details.
  • Provide construction options to optimize patterns, cost, and production viability.
  • Measure, inspect, and evaluate prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production samples.
  • Measure and evaluate top-of-production samples to release for production.
  • Organize weekly fit priorities based on seasonal calendar deliverables.
  • Participate in fittings, document notes and photos, and interpret fit comments.
  • Provide technical feedback to enhance garment functionality.
  • Request, track, and organize fit samples.
  • Communicate fit revisions, construction improvements, and technical issues to domestic and overseas vendors.
  • Collaborate with vendors on fit, corrections, grading, and construction.
  • Work with design, product development, and production teams to ensure design intent and quality standards.
  • Participate in return feedback review sessions to troubleshoot fit issues.
  • Manage deliverables against the time and action calendar to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel.
  • Prior experience working in a PLM system.
  • Understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, fabric, and grading.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
  • Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 6 months to 2 years of relevant experience.
