About the Role
Associates in asset management will focus on post-acquisition transactions, including restructurings, refinancing, and dispositions. They will also drive value enhancement projects, manage lease and negotiation strategies, oversee capital expenditure execution, and guide platform company strategy.
Responsibilities
- Work on post-acquisition transactions including restructurings/recapitalizations, refinancing, dispositions (public IPOs and private market sales)
- Manage the strategy and execution of value enhancement projects
- Oversee lease and management negotiations, capital expenditure execution, and platform company strategy and direction
- Participate in all aspects of projects and be staffed on multiple assignments concurrently
- Assume integral roles on deal teams
- Perform real estate and public company valuation analysis
- Conduct analyses to drive investment, financing, capital, and sale decisions
- Lead due diligence and execution of transactions
- Interface with market participants including deal counterparties, external advisors, and platform company leadership
- Attend site tours
- Assist with legal negotiations and due diligence
- Develop investment budgets, strategic plans, and present asset valuations
- Perform Excel financial modeling
- Draft memoranda and presentations for internal and external use
- Conduct market research and data analysis
Requirements
- 2+ years of prior investment banking or real estate investment experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work in a team environment with dynamic roles
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and economics
