About the Role

Porters are responsible for ensuring Red Rabbit’s kitchen exceeds Department of Health standards and that all equipment is in working order. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining the physical plant of a large warehouse, restaurant/kitchen, or hospital setting, and is reliable, energetic, and possesses a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Properly clean all areas of the kitchen to ensure Red Rabbit exceeds DOH standards, including countertops, cooking equipment, walk-in refrigerators, floors, hand sinks, dishes, and storage areas.
  • Remove trash, cardboard, and compost in a timely manner, ensuring the kitchen is clean and free from debris for food preparation.
  • Proactively work to ensure the kitchen team is set up for meal production each day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
  • Must be reliable, function well within a team, and work calmly and efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must operate proactively with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Must have a great attitude that contributes to a positive working environment.

Skills

  • 1+ years of work experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commissary kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Education Level

  • High School Graduate or equivalent relevant preferred

Salary/Compensations

  • $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
