About the Role
The Fundraising Content Officer supports marketing strategies to acquire, cultivate, and retain donors through compelling storytelling and content creation for direct marketing activities in both English and French. This role works closely with Mass Marketing, Philanthropy, and Digital Unit teams to execute the annual fundraising plan and support strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Research, interview sources, and develop fundraising copy in English and French.
- Shape and execute content strategy for the fundraising department.
- Map content for fundraising appeals, campaigns, and stewardship pieces.
- Contribute to the development of overarching fundraising narratives and storytelling for quarterly campaigns.
- Copywrite and edit for web and print, including emails, direct mail, Dispatches, annual reports, and philanthropic proposals.
- Connect with internal and global staff to secure content and ensure timely use of scheduled packages.
- Lead editorial meetings and storytelling for fundraising campaigns.
- Build a pipeline and story library of bilingual content for donor-facing materials.
- Perform as the copy expert, proofreading and editing marketing materials for accuracy and consistency.
- Develop copy to inspire donors, increase brand awareness, and engage supporters.
- Produce digital fundraising content and e-appeals using marketing best practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues, international staff, and vendors to build relationships and review program performance.
- Liaise with the Communications team and other departments to ensure campaign integration.
- Stay current with research, fundraising trends, and best practices.
Requirements
- Fluency in verbal and written English and French.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum 40% presence in an MSF Canada office per week.
- Available for occasional evenings or weekends.
