About the Role
Company Ventures is seeking a senior investment team member to specialize in AI. This role involves sourcing, diligencing, modeling, and making investment decisions in AI-native companies. The position offers a clear path to Principal for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Run point on deal analysis for all deals nearing investment committee consideration.
- Initiate diligence for AI-native opportunities end to end, including building financial models and stress-testing scenarios.
- Defend investment views in partner meetings.
- Pressure-test technical claims and translate technical insights into return potential.
- Build the firm's point of view on the AI stack and develop actionable investment theses.
- Source AI-native investment opportunities directly.
- Partner with talent and community functions to ensure a strong pipeline of AI founders and technical operators.
- Represent Company Ventures at technical communities, labs, and events.
- Support portfolio companies with AI build-vs-buy decisions and technical hiring.
- Engage daily as co-owner of the Residency program, attending key events and driving program success.
- Bring hands-on AI fluency to firm operations.
- Serve as a credible and current voice on the capabilities of the latest AI models and agents.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of investing or directly relevant analytical experience.
- Experience as an analyst or associate at a bank, private equity firm, or venture firm, with experience building financial models under scrutiny.
- Ability to build financial models showing deal capital returns under different scenarios and identify key assumptions.
- Ability to take and defend a position on a deal in partner meetings.
- Daily use of frontier models and coding agents.
- Ability to contribute to internal tooling.
- Willingness to work in person at the offices at 22 Vanderbilt.
