About the Role

The Warehouse Manager will oversee receiving, warehouse, and distribution operations for the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) team in Bronx, NY. This role involves managing a team of warehouse clerks, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining safety standards while supporting the growth of high-quality branded products.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all inbound receiving and outbound loading duties
  • Ensure accurate picking and preparation of orders for routes and customer deliveries
  • Maintain inventory control, organization, and warehouse cleanliness
  • Coordinate general maintenance of the warehouse and equipment
  • Oversee afternoon shift and closing duties
  • Manage, recruit, train, and develop a team of warehouse clerks
  • Manage attendance, productivity, and performance metrics (KPIs)
  • Implement coaching and recognition programs to drive continuous improvement
  • Foster a safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with OSHA and food safety standards
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings and annual audits as a member of the food safety team
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on performance expectations and disciplinary actions
  • Develop cross-training programs to increase workforce flexibility
  • Schedule and allocate labor resources based on workload and business priorities
  • Support seasonal readiness, promotional events, and peak planning
  • Deliver product to stores or customer warehouses as needed
  • Provide back-up coverage for the Route Sales Manager shift as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience in food distribution and cold chain/perishable operations
  • Ability to use material handling equipment, specifically a forklift and pallet jack
  • Valid driver’s license with no major driving infractions
  • Ability to drive an 18 to 24 foot box truck with liftgate
  • Ability to move product weighing up to 50lbs
  • Proven experience building and leading high-functioning teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and strategic planning skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Apple products
