About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist embedded within the marketing and growth function, you will be the analytical backbone for user acquisition, retention, and growth. You will build models, dashboards, and analyses to drive smarter spending, sharper targeting, and a deeper understanding of players. A core part of this role involves measuring the true impact of marketing and promotional investments, focusing on long-term effects on player behavior, retention, and lifetime value. This position requires a blend of data engineering, modeling, and storytelling, working directly with leaders to translate data into business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain predictive models for marketing strategy, including player LTV, churn risk, CAC payback, and propensity-to-convert.
  • Own marketing attribution and incrementality analysis across various paid channels.
  • Quantify the causal impact and long-term business value of promotions, bonuses, and lifecycle campaigns.
  • Apply causal inference techniques to evaluate marketing investments where A/B tests are not feasible.
  • Partner with growth marketers to design, run, and analyze experiments.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for real-time visibility into channel performance, cohort behavior, promo ROI, and funnel health.
  • Clean, structure, and validate data across the marketing stack and collaborate with data engineering to enhance data models.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, improve, and scale data usage within the marketing team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a data scientist, marketing analyst, or growth analyst, preferably in consumer app, gaming, fintech, or subscription businesses.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large, messy behavioral datasets.
  • Hands-on experience building predictive models in Python (LTV, churn, propensity, segmentation) using libraries like scikit-learn or XGBoost.
  • Experience evaluating the long-term and incremental impact of marketing and promotional spend.
  • Working knowledge of causal inference methods and their appropriate applications.
  • Solid understanding of marketing measurement concepts: attribution, incrementality, holdouts, cohort analysis, and unit economics.
  • Experience with experimentation, including test design, sizing, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency with at least one BI/visualization tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode, Sigma).
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A bias toward action and delivering practical solutions efficiently.
