About the Role

This entry-level role involves performing surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment primarily in an in-house repair lab at Brigham & Women's Hospital, with occasional work on mobile repair trucks. STERIS provides comprehensive training for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, hand tools, power tools, and soldering
  • Work in the field on a mobile repair truck, inside a repair lab, or inside a hospital based on customer needs
  • Provide invoicing and documentation as required
  • Support various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and staffing levels
  • Conduct basic box truck safety checks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience or 1 year of experience at STERIS
  • Ability to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours
  • Ability to perform occasional overnight or out-of-state travel
  • Pass a DOT medical/physical exam and comply with all DOT regulations
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Maintain required vaccines
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds
  • Ability to comply with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
  • Must be based out of New York
